SECRETARY of the Inner West Area Tenants Council (IWATC), Helen Gialouris from Belmore was awarded the 2014 Harmony Citizen award at Harmony Day Celebrations at the Orion Centre in Campsie. The Canterbury Inter-faith Reference Group won the Harmony Day Community Group of the Year Award, with Sheikh Shady Alsuleiman Shiekh and Sister Kalo Sikimeti accepting the award from State MP for Lakemba, Robert Furolo. Convenor of the Canterbury Harmony Group, Cr Karl Saleh said the awards recognised the efforts of individual volunteers and volunteer groups in our community that foster cross-cultural cooperation and promote multicultural harmony.
